Gas Measurements

In the Netherlands, CIJ Borculo is the only accredited company that can perform on-site inspections of gas meters. Our certified technicians use a mobile testing installation to carry out random inspections of your meter at home. We always conduct these inspections on behalf of your grid operator. Thanks to this unique method, your grid operator can be certain that all energy meters in the network are functioning reliably. This ensures that you receive exactly what you are paying for.

If doubts arise—either from you or from the grid operator—regarding the reliability of your energy meter, CIJ Borculo can act as an independent party to carry out a comprehensive inspection. Such an investigation, known as a case study, is always conducted on behalf of the grid operator and can be performed either on-site or in our laboratory.

On-Site Gas Meter Inspection – The Benefits:

With our mobile testing installations, we perform inspections on gas meters ranging from 0.8 m³/h to 700 m³/h.

How Does a Inspection Work?

On behalf of your grid operator, we carry out inspections of your gas meter. Such an inspection takes about one hour and works as follows:

  • We remove the gas meter from the meter cabinet.

  • We take the gas meter to our mobile laboratory.

  • We inspect it in accordance with the Metrology Act.

  • We reinstall the meter in your meter cabinet.

  • We assist you in restarting the gas meter and the appliances connected to it.

How Does a Case Study Inspection Work?

At CIJ Borculo, we carry out thorough case study inspections at the request of your grid operator to quickly and accurately identify any issues with your gas meter. This investigation helps detect errors and malfunctions, ensuring that you can always rely on correct measurement data and a fair energy bill. We are designated by the Dutch Metrology Institute (NMi) as a Recognized Inspector, which authorizes us to perform these inspections.

Sub-Meters

For various industrial companies, private individuals, and property owners, we perform inspections on sub-meters. Although these meters are not randomly checked by the grid operator, it is still important to have them inspected. CIJ Borculo is the right partner for this. Thanks to our on-site inspections, we can provide a quick and reliable assessment of your gas meter.

EVHI's

For large-scale gas consumption, an EVHI (Electronic Volume Conversion Device) is indispensable. This device corrects the measurement of the gas meter to standard values, ensuring that differences in pressure and temperature do not affect the billing. As a result, you always receive a reliable and fair representation of your actual consumption.
