Gas measurements
In the Netherlands, CIJ Borculo is the only company authorized to inspect gas meters on site. Our certified technicians use a mobile testing installation to carry out random inspections of meters at homes or businesses. We always perform these inspections on behalf of the grid operator or metering company. Thanks to this unique method, your grid operator or metering company can ensure that all energy meters in the network are functioning reliably. This way, you can trust that you receive exactly what you are paying for.
If doubts arise, either from you or from the grid operator or metering company, about the reliability of your energy meter, CIJ Borculo can perform an in-depth measurement as an independent party. Such an investigation, known as a dispute analysis, is always carried out on behalf of the grid operator or metering company and can be conducted either on site or in our laboratory.

The advantages of on site gas meter inspections
With our mobile testing installations, we carry out inspections on gas meters ranging from 0.8 m³/h to 700 m³/h.
Do you have larger gas meters? No problem. We can inspect these as well by appointment.

How a random inspection works
On behalf of your grid operator or metering company, we perform random inspections of your gas meter. Such an inspection takes about one hour and involves the following steps:
The gas meter is removed from the meter cabinet.
The gas meter is taken to our mobile laboratory.
We inspect it in accordance with the Dutch Metrology Act.
The meter is reinstalled in your meter cabinet.
We assist you in restarting the gas meter and any connected appliances.
How a dispute analysis works
At CIJ Borculo, we carry out detailed dispute analyses at the request of your grid operator or metering company to quickly and accurately identify any problems with your gas meter. This inspection helps detect errors and malfunctions, ensuring you can always rely on accurate readings and a fair energy bill. The Netherlands Metrology Institute has designated us as an authorized inspector, allowing us to perform these analyses.
Sub meters
For various industrial companies, private individuals, and property owners, we also carry out inspections of sub meters. Although these are not inspected randomly by the grid operator or metering company, it is still important to have them checked. CIJ Borculo is the right partner for this. Thanks to our on site inspections, we can provide a fast and reliable assessment of your gas meter.
EVHIs
For large gas consumers, an EVHI (electronic volume conversion device) is essential. This device corrects the gas meter readings to standard conditions, ensuring that variations in pressure and temperature do not affect billing. This guarantees a reliable and fair representation of your actual consumption. CIJ Borculo inspects and tests EVHIs throughout the Netherlands for various clients.
