What is gas detection?

Gas detection is the measurement of the presence and concentration of (potentially hazardous) gases in the air. These include gases that may be explosive, toxic, asphyxiating, or harmful to the environment. Early detection is essential to prevent incidents such as explosions, damage, and/or health risks.

Examples of gas detection equipment

  • Leak detection equipment: For locating gas leaks in pipelines and installations

  • LEL meters: Measure the Lower Explosive Limit of flammable gases

  • Multi-gas detectors and sensors for, among others:

    • Carbon monoxide (CO)

    • Oxygen (O₂)

    • Carbon dioxide (CO₂)

    • Methane (CH₄)

    • Refrigerant R134a (BRL 100)
