What is a high-voltage measurement?
A high-voltage measurement involves checking for the presence of voltage in installations above the standard mains voltage, usually from 1,000 volts and higher. In practice, this often concerns applications between 1 kV and 60 kV, where absolute safety is crucial.
These measurements are essential for grid operators, rail infrastructure, power plants, industrial installations, and high-voltage substations.
Examples of high-voltage equipment:
Single-pole voltage testers (0–60 kV)
Two-pole voltage testers (0–60 kV)
Phase comparators (for phase sequence testing)
High-voltage generators

Benefits of reliable high-voltage measurement
Safety: Prevents electrocution and errors during switching operations.
Compliance with standards: Equipment meets NEN-EN 61243-1/2 and other guidelines.
Efficiency: Enables quick and reliable verification of voltage absence or phase sequencing.
Support in switching operations: Essential for authorized personnel (VOPs, VPs, and WVs) in high-voltage environments.
